We are just three guys who have known each other for longer then any of us would want to admit (since public school) and have each found a love for investing. Strangely enough, we each tend to concentrate on different area's of the investment world and because of this, we can really help each other learn new techniques and tricks to incorporate into our own personal investment styles.
About Bullish Dividends
I am a happily married man, no kids, but we plan on having them very soon. I believe exercise and a healthy diet are extremely important for anyone looking to better themselves. I guess you can say that I believe that true balance in life can only be achieved with a healthy mind and body.
Dividends are the foundation of my retirement plan which will be most evident if you read any of my posts on dividend based investing. I think it is the thought of being able to retire young and live off of a dividend supplied income stream that really pulls me towards dividend paying stocks. By concentrating on companies that have a long history of paying and increasing dividends, with time, you can be making a very good return just off of the dividends, now that is an encouraging thought, and is a great example of "letting your money work for you".
About Stockaholic
So you want to know a little bit about me, eh? Well, I’ll keep it brief and I’ll try to stay focused on what exactly you might be interested in knowing about me, which I’m guessing is the usual background check, i.e., education, professional experience, investing style. So, without further ado, I present… myself.
As far as educational background goes, I completed two degrees in university, one in business and the other in computer science. Post university, I went on to complete a number of securities industry designations to further advance my knowledge of the capital markets and investing.
I currently work in the capital markets community on Bay Street for a major securities dealer. I have been in the industry for a few years now in various capacities (equity research, sales and trading, derivatives) and have been an active trader/investor for nearly 5 years.
When it comes to investing I am a fundamentalist through and through. My specialty is Canadian and US stocks and options and I typically invest for the long-term and rarely trade on a short-term basis. I believe that investing for the long-term requires a great deal of due diligence and that one should endeavor to learn everything possible about a company before making an investment.
About Venture Opportunist
On a personal level, I'm an enthusiastic, active, and outgoing person.
On a professional level, I got into this business a few years back and was in way over my head, but knew I would come back to it when I left because I wanted to do nothing else. And here I am. Nothing else can afford me the opportunity to write my own destiny and reap directly the fruits of my success. (and failures) My educational background is in mathematics, which fits in with my approach to any financial instrument pretty well. I've been a proprietary trader at a time when I was clueless, following that I was an independent FX trader, and have managed a day-trading floor in the past as well. Now I am a full-time professional day-trader with moderate success that I continue to build upon to become remarkable success.
