From 1997 – 2001 I worked in the securities industry as an analyst
for a mid-sized broking firm in Sydney, Australia. In 2001 I left the
industry to pursue other endeavours and the stock market and economics
became a distant memory. However, old habits die hard and in 2006 I
rekindled my interest in the financial world and started this blog.
I am a natural skeptic and believe it pays to question consensus
opinion and look for opportunities that run contrary to the herd
mentality. From my time on ‘the inside’ and my contrarian bent, I hope
I can offer readers something useful to chew over and I welcome
comments and debate on any issue.
