Coeur d'Alene Mines Corp. (NYSE:CDE) (CDE) said its Cerro Bayo Mine in Chile has resumed operations after a suspension to upgrade the electrical infrastructure of the mine.
The Idaho-based silver company expected the mine to be closed for six weeks beginning April 8, but the upgrades, part of the company's ongoing recovery plan, proceeded ahead of schedule.
The recovery plan includes increased underground mine development for improved operational flexibility, reduced manpower and improved workforce training and supervision.
