Although Carlos Slim Helu may never become as famous as Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ: MSFT) Chairman Bill Gates, Mr. Slim is ranked in second place when it comes to wealth behind Berkshire Hathaway Inc (NYSE: BRKA) Chairman Warren Buffett, and thus Mr Slim is already considered richer than Mr Gates, according to Forbes magazine.

Mr Slim is best known for his holdings in Telefonos de Mexico SAB de CV (NYSE: TMX), which is also called Telmex.

NewsVisual created an IntellectSpace Knowledge Map that shows the many other companies that Mr Slim has current or past investments in, including AT&T, Circuit City and Saks Inc.

Numerous other companies appear on the Map.
