Transgenomic Finds China Partner

Transgenomic, Inc. (OTCBB: TBIO) announced a new laboratory services partnership with the Guangzhou Family Planning Center of Guangzhou, China. Transgenomic will provide pharmacogenomic analyses in the Guangzhou Laboratory for pharmaceutical companies that are conducting clinical trials in China. China law requires that samples collected in China are tested in China.

Financial details of the partnership were not disclosed.

Transgenomic provides automated high sensitivity genetic variation and mutation analysis that are used in drug development. The company has already installed the necessary instruments in Guangzhou Family Planning Center’s lab to provide its pharmacogenomic services.

Transgenomic’s offerings include WAVE® DHPLC Systems, related consumables and assay kits, cytogenetics automated systems, Transgenomic Molecular Clinical Reference Laboratory and Pharmacogenomics Research Services. Transgenomic's two laboratory services divisions use these technologies to provide mutation scanning tests for over 700 cancer-associated genes and more than 60 validated diagnostic tests.
