Power Adaptors are the Best Selling iGo product, Survey says

Mobility Electronics Inc., the Scottsdale, Arizona-based company that develops universal power adapters for portable computers and mobile electronic devices is seeing big changes this month including a ticker symbol change and news that the company reported a net loss for the first quarter of $235,000 or $0.01 per share. Tickermine consulted various retailers stocking the products including Best buy, RadioShack and CompUSA. Our researchers asked; which iGo products do consumers most often purchase? Which of the following power kits is selling the best (LG Chocolate, Blackberry, iPhone, Motorola Q, Motorola RAZR, Treo)? And which of the following product types are people buying the most of (power adapters, cables & parts, accessories)? 23 retail locations were consulted for the poll. Power adapters were cited as the most commonly purchased iGo product, our survey says, (with 13 respondents or 57%). This was followed by Bluetooth wireless keyboards (six respondents or 26%), and notebook accessories as well as cables and parts were cited by two respondents each or by 9% of those polled. The Blackberry is the best selling power kit our poll showed (with mentions by 10 respondents or 43%), followed by the iPhone (five respondents or 22%), as well as the Motorola RAZR. And the LG Chocolate was cited three times or by 13% of those interviewed. Our respondents said that power adapters sold best according to 11 respondents or 48%. Audi Dealerships Say The Audi A4 Sells Best

Audi, the luxury auto brand owned by Volkswagon was polled by Tickermine this week after stellar reports of the company’s double digit growth. This was triggered by demand from wealthy customers in both China and Russia, the company said and Audi has grown by 2.9% to 86,700 vehicles in April. Our researchers consulted 27 dealerships across the country and asked which Audi sold best, does this dealership offer any special deals to counter the US's high oil costs and does this dealership offer any specials on free satellite radio? The Audi A4 was the most popular model, our survey says, (according to 10 respondents or 37% of those polled). Other models cited were the Audi A3 (five respondents or 19%), the Audi A5 (four respondents or 15%), the Audi TT (three respondents or 11%,) the Audi Q7 and Audi R8 (both with two respondents or 7%) and the Audi A6 (one respondent or 6%). Three respondents or 11% of those interviewed said they were offering specials as a result of high oil costs but most respondents (29 people or 87%) said they did not. Satellite radio however was being used for bait. Eight respondents or 30% said they did not offer free satellite radio to customers. But 19 people or 70% said they did.

Most Haverty Furniture Stores See the Economy Causing a Dip in Sales

Haverty Furniture Inc., ( HVT) was profiled by Tickermine this month after the company announced its same-store sales had dropped in April. Our surveyors approached 20 retail locations across the States and asked the following: Do you expect customers to shop at your location after they received their tax returns, is business up from this time last year, do you have a lot of repeat customers, and do your customers purchase for entire rooms at once? All 20 respondents or 100% of those polled said that they do expect their customers to come shopping at their store once their tax return arrives this month. Eight respondents or 40% of those interviewed said that business was better compared with this time last year, two respondents or 10% said that business was the same, but not so positive was the news that 10 respondents or 50% of those polled said that business was definitely slower. On the flipside, 12 respondents or 60% of those polled said that their customers will purchase for entire rooms at once. Eight respondents or 40% said this was not the spending pattern of their customers. And while three respondents or 15% said they do not see a lot of repeat customers, 17 respondents or 85% said that regulars constitute the bulk of their business. In spite of this, the furniture company still struggles with external influences. Six respondents or 30% of those polled said that the economy does not affect sales at their store, whereas 14 respondents or 70% said the economy definitely dampened business.
