A New Week, and the Market is still Hanging On

The next market session will close:

A nice rally on Friday kept the Market Meter from dropping below -12, so all four systems are still trading under normal conditions. The markets are still fragile, obviously, so a renewed push downward this week could still trigger a Bear Alert. Either way, I just follow my signals. Last week was a stressful week for me personally, with the flooding in Cedar Rapids and my uncle's funeral earlier in the week. When you as a trader are under stress, it is sometimes difficult to trade effectively. This is one of the many advantages of using mechanical trading systems. By letting the systems do the thinking, and following the trade signals with discipline, you can avoid letting your personal situations dictate your trading decisions.

With the recent weakness in the market, I took a look at how the four systems are doing in comparison to the overall market. Listed below are links to 1-month charts for each of the systems:

As you can see, all four of the systems have outperformed the Wilshire 5000 over the past month, with Tier 1 Steady MV still leading the way.

We have 12 signals for Monday. SCMV Weekly is selling another of its holdings, and is now down to only 1 stock. On the flip-side, Wave Rider is buying one more stock, and is now fully invested. Tier 1 Steady MV is selling two, and buying two.

Trade 4 Cash sold HDSN Friday afternoon, after purchasing it in the morning. The stock hit its profit target during a nice afternoon rally. In addition to this sell, the system is selling two others, and is buying three new stocks to fill the three empty slots.

Finally, there are 5 stocks in Monday's High Energy Watch List. Have a great Monday!
