China Sky One Medical (AMEX: CSY) reported that it has 11 new drugs in clinical trials, seven of them administered by injection. The clinical trials are expected to be underway for six months. Assuming the trials are successful, China Sky One projects it will submit the drugs for SFDA approval in early 2009.

China Sky One has traditionally emphasized externally administered products (patches and ointments), but it has been building up its product portfolio by acquiring other companies.

So far in 2008, China Sky One has bought Heilongjiang Tianlong Pharmaceutical (price: $8.3 million) and Peng Lai Jin Chuang Company (price: $7.1 million). Heilongjiang Tianlong was responsible for the propyl gallate injection, whose approval China Sky One announced earlier this week. It has also previously announced that Heilongjiang Tianlong completed the R&D work on eight other injected products.

The following is a list of the products that China Sky One has in clinical trials:

• Povidone Iodine Suppository: for treatment of moniliasis colpitis, bacterial colpitis, and hemorrhoids;
• Gabexate Mesylate Injection: for treatment of acute pancreatitis and acute hemorrhagic necrosis of the pancreas;
• Ciclopirox Ointment: for treatment of superficial fungal infection, such as Tinea manuum and Tinea pedis;
• Ciclopirox Olamine Vaginal Suppositories: for treatment of moniliasis, or mycotic colitis.
• Fibrauretnire Suppositories: for treatment of vulvar moniliasis vaginosis;
• Omeprazole Sodium Injection: for treatment of digestive ulcers, gastrinoma, stress ulcers and Reflux Esophagitis. This drug can prevent stress states and upper postoperative digestive tract bleeding and aspiration pneumonitis by general anesthetics;
• Ozagrel Sodium Injection: for treatment of acute cerebral infarction and accompanied impediments;
• Citicoline Sodium Injection: for treatment of acute brain injury and postoperative consciousness impediment;
• Tiopronin Injection: for improving liver function from liver inflammation, fatty liver, alcoholic hepatitis, medication injury, and heavy metal detox. This drug can reduce toxic and side effects of chemotherapy and has a notable curative effect on cataracts and vitreous opacities in early stages;
• Carbazochrome Sodium Sulfonate Injection: for treatment of the urinary system, upper digestive tract, respiratory system and obstetric hemorrhage;
• Diltiazem Hydrochloride Injection: for treatment of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia and unstable angina pectoris. This drug can also be used for high-blood pressure during an operation or for severe hypertension.
