Dow Jones & Company announced that it will replace AIG on September 22 with Kraft Foods Inc. (NYSE:KFT). AIG received a $85 billion loan from the US Government this week.

  • Kraft Added to Dow Industrials After Plunge in AIG
    Kraft Foods Inc., the world’s second-largest foodmaker, will replace American International Group Inc. in the Dow Jones Industrial Average after the biggest U.S. insurance company was taken over by the government.
  • Dow 30: Nice Knowing You, AIG
    The company’s life in the Dow — less than four-and-a-half years — marks the shortest tenure for any one company in the Dow since United Aircraft, which was added to the index in 1933, and removed in 1934 when it was broken up under antitrust laws.
