The next market session will close:

Sequenom (SQNM) just posted quiet bright news in relation to the study we've been waiting on. Not one single false positive in either the 1st or 2nd trimester in the follow up round of testing - boo yah. This is more of a 2010 play, but we could be seeing the birth of one heck of a franchise here. The stock is up about 12% in after hours. One day, when stock pickers take the Earth back from quant hedge funds and daytraders, news like this will matter for more than 3 hours. I do enjoy finding bright companies early in their public life, and the occasional news like this brings hope that fundamentals one day will matter in the day to day morass that is this stock market. Like that 1 good golf shot in an awful round it reminds one of the reasons they used to like the stock market "game" - ah the good ole days when research mattered.

Until then, we can assume the stock will be sold short and negative within 24 hours.
