Clear Vision Advisors successfully hosted its first networking event for the year last evening with three companies presenting and about 25 people in attendance. Below is more information on the three companies which presented at the event last evening, which are poised to benefit from several trends, including (1) the demand by an aging population for consumer healthcare products with fewer side effects than prescription treatments, (2) power management solutions for the energy infrastructure and metering market, and (3) more efficient data storage solutions.

ALCiS Health is a consumer healthcare company which develops innovative over-the-counter (OTC) topical treatments for pain relief under the ALCiS brand name. The OTC topical pain relief market is estimated at $800M, with leading brands such as Icy Hot – Chattem (CHTT), and Ben Gay – Johnson & Johnson (JNJ). The most recent successful product innovation is the ThermaCare heat wraps – Wyeth (WYE), which boast sales over $100M per year – the OTC equivalent of a blockbuster product, which is typically defined as $1B in sales for prescription drug treatments.

ALCiS has developed a unique drug delivery system for the active ingredient (Trolamine Salicylate 10%) which provides deep, penetrating pain relief in as little as five minutes. The Company's products are featured in more than 13,000 stores, including leading retailers and drugstores such as Walgreens (WAG), CVS Caremark (CVS), Rite Aid (RAD), Wal-Mart (WMT), Target (TGT), and many others.

POWRtec is an energy infrastructure management company which is expected to begin trading on the OTCBB next month with a market cap of about $32M with 10M shares outstanding at an opening price of $3.25 per share. POWRtec develops energy management solutions, including networked and broadband metering products. Pro forma revenue for 2009 is expected to come in at around $8.5M.

Competing companies listed for trading in the U.S. market include Echelon (ELON), Itron (ITRI), and ABB Ltd. (ABB). POWRtec's products include a built-in communication interface (WiFi, WiMAX, Ethernet, etc.) and real-time data with the ability to measure very low loads, allowing customers to bill at low load levels.

MultiXtor is a provider of flash memory storage in the form of FlashCard (PCI Express Card) and FlashBox (Server with several FlashCards) to compete with DRAM. Differentiating features include random I/O performance which is the same as sequential and write performance which is the same as read. The Company’s technology is designed to use memory more effectively, allowing for power savings and server consolidation through virtualization to reduce cap-ex spending for data centers.
