NTES stock chart NetEase.com (NASDAQ: NTES) is set to report its earnings later in the day today. The Chinese internet company has had a long lineup of new product developments in the past quarter as well as some new business segments too. It has also announced to hire 140 employees for its game business. NetEase kicked off a campus recruitment drive in September 2008 to hire 1,000 graduates in 2009.

The company set up a pig farm in Zhejiang Province, whose livestock number is 10,000 pigs. The pig farm of Netease.com is aimed at the high-end market. The president added that just because the company hoped to chart a new path to sales, it did not mean Netease would give up its traditional Internet businesses. In terms of technology, the management has begun first-round technology testing of its in-house developed 3D Transformers-themed strategy MMORPG "TF Online" from February 15 onwards. NetEase began offering client downloads of the Transformers-themed game on recently.

Other product enhancements include a new bulletin board service on tie.youdao.com, its search engine service. The online forum channel of Youdao.com features areas for users to upload pictures and videos. In addition, the new service will provide unique functions like personalized navigation. As the search engine support for the BBS service product, Youdao.com will also play an important role in the new product. Users can enter keywords in any sector of the BBS channel to search relevant themes, content and even writers. Hu Chen, marketing director of Youdao.com, says that the company hopes to use a simple and easy-to-understand product name to represent the features of this BBS service, which are quick and convenient. Over the past few months, the company has implemented detailed adjustments many times and they believe the new product will help users to express their opinions more smoothly.

In this month the company also unveiled its latest hit Transformer, which is scheduled to go through inner trials soon. The new 3D game comes with a new style totally different with the company's previous Chinese-style cyber games. The company discloses that the new game is designed and developed by Netease's game design unit. And the whole process of the development has been carried out secretly. The story of the game is set in 2175, when the earthmen have set up bases in Mars. Spokesperson for the company says that they hope the new game will make a hit and add a new stream of sales to the company's pockets.

In mid-January, NetEase launched its online shopping search engine youdao.com, in a bid to further expand its e-commerce business. By now, the site has recorded information about more than 100 online B2C shops and 6 million kinds of commodities. Users of youdao.com can get the unbiased information about products prices, inventories, and merchants.

The booming Chinese internet industry tied along with new product initiatives should translate good numbers for the company this quarter.
