Top Insider Purchases – August 17, 2010:It was interesting to see two oil and natural gas companies make the top 5 list of insider purchases today. The $1.7 million CLR purchase by its CEO was one of the most significant purchases I have seen in a few days and the filing came in after hours. The company reported an 84% increase in revenue when it reported Q2 results and saw earnings increase six fold when compared to Q2 2009 even after removing one time items.
I decided to include two additional purchases even though the actual purchase amounts were small. I have noticed multiple purchases by the CEO of WINA and several insiders bought stock of video game producer THQI.
