52-Week Highs & Lows: Q, AIG, EMS, CMCSA, ORCL, CMCSK, VTG, BAA, CTFO, CO, GMR

Stock exchanges in the United States were on an upward swing on Tuesday, as the markets received a boost from the upbeat report on retail sales released by the Commerce Department, and the news that the Senate has passed the $900 billion tax-cut legislation toward final passage.

Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 60.93 points or 0.53 percent to 11,489.49 in the morning. NASDAQ composite index rose 9.82 points or 0.37 percent to 2,634.73, and the Standard and Poor 500 index climbed 4.22 points or 0.34 percent to 1,244.68.

Several stocks reached or matched their highest range of 52-week during the current trading session and a few tumbled to their lowest range of their last one year.

52-Week Highs:

Qwest Communications Internation (NYSE: Q) reached its highest range of $7.48 today. Its lowest range in the last 52-week was $3.88. The trading volume of the company stooad at 4.2 million shares, far below its average range of 27 million shares.

American International Group In (NYSE: AIG) matched its highest range of $50.73. Its lowest range in the last one year was $21.54. Shares of the company gained 4.06 percent to$50.49 in the morning. The trading volume of the company was recorded at 4.67 million shares, slightly above its average volume of 4.5 million shares.

Shares of Emergency Medical Services Corp (NYSE: EMS) jumped 11.42 percent to $60.01. The company reached its highest range of $64.33. Previously, the lowest range of the company was $42.27. The trading volume of the company was 1.5 million shares, way above its average volume of 291 thousand shares.

Comcast Corporation (NasdaqGS: CMCSA) matched its best range during the 52-week period at $22.15 today. Its lowest range in the last one year was $13.88. Shares of the company gained 3.85 percent to $22.14. The trading volume of the company was 11 million shares against its average volume of 15 million shares.

Oracle Corporation (NasdaqGS: ORCL) gained 0.82 percent to $30.66. During the trading session, the company reached its highest range of $30.75. Its lowest range in the last one year was $21.16.
