AEO American Eagle cuts forecast and reports September same store sales -2% vs +1.2% Briefing.com consensus. AEO lowers Q3 EPS of $0.44-0.45 vs previous guidance of $0.47-0.48 .
ZUMZ Zumiez comparable same store sales increase 13.9% vs 6.3% Briefing.com consensus (some good news!).
UTSI prelim ($0.36) vs ($0.31) Reuters consensus; revs $601.0 mln vs $587.62 mln Reuters consensus.
HOTT Hot Topic reports September Comp Store Sales of -2.9% v -3.1% Briefing.com consensus.
FSI Flexible Solutions sees Q3 revenues below consensus. Company issues downside guidance; co sees Q3 revs of $1.3 mln vs $2.2 mln Reuters consensus. Co sees rev growth flat yr/yr, but growth should resume in Y08
WBSN sees Q3 EPS of $0.22-0.23 vs $0.22 consensus. Sees revenues of $50.4 mln vs $54.5 mln consensus.
EZEM EZ EM reports Q1 EPS from continuing operations of $0.06 vs $0.15 single estimate; revs of $33.0 mln vs $34.2 mln single estimate. Co sees Y08 EPS of $0.77-0.81 vs $0.80 single estimate; sees revs of $155-160 mln vs $158.50 single estimate. (Not so hot)

RUTH Ruths Chris Steak House announces preliminary Q3 revenues below consensus. Company sees Q3 revenues of $70.0-70.2 mln vs $72.4 mln Reuters consensus. For Q3 of 2007, co-owned comparable restaurant sales decreased 0.4%.
CREL Corel beats by $0.01, but misses on revenues; guidance for Q4 EPS below consensus, revenues below consensus. Reports Q3 (Aug) earnings of $0.31 per share, excluding non-recurring items, $0.01 better than the Reuters Estimates consensus of $0.30; revenues rose 46.2% year/year to $60.4 mln vs the $61.4 mln consensus. Co issues downside guidance for Q4, sees EPS of $0.43-0.52 vs. $0.54 consensus; sees Q4 revenues of $66-70 mln vs. $72.00 mln consensus.
The Dow couldn’t stay in the green today, but the Nasdaq recovered by the close from it’s little dip. The XLF closed down about a half percent, but had been down more during the day. We’re back to the “trade momentum stocks” and “trade on rumors”, until more substantial market moving news comes out. Chuck will post more later about some of those events for Thursday and Friday.
