We asked whether lunch or dinner was
busiest, what lures the customers in, which menu items sell best and
how much the average party of two spends? Dinner was considered the
busier shift by 19 respondents or 79% of those polled. Five people or
21% reported lunch as busier. All 24 respondents or 100% said their
location had been around longer than a year and when asked what
attracted their client base it was an even split between atmosphere and
the menu (each were cited by 12 respondents or 50%.) Meals don't come
cheap at McCormick and Schmick's. 14 respondents or 58% said a party of
two spends $30-$50 and that was the lower end. Five respondents or 21%
said $55-$75 was typical for a couple and another 21% of those polled
said checks ranged from $85-$100. The Atlantic Salmon sold best (four
mentions or 17%) and the rest were each mentioned twice or by 8% of
those surveyed: Alaska Halibut, Filet Mignon, Jumbo Shrimp Pomodoro,
Stuffed Salmon and the Grilled Tilapia. Business isn't exactly stellar
all the same. Nine respondents or 38% reported brisker business to a
year ago. 4 people reported it as less busy (17%) and 11 or 46%
reported it as the same.

order a specialty drink rather than drip coffee, up from 71% in April.
