WILMINGTON, Del., Aug. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- DuPont Titanium
Technologies today announced an energy surcharge for DuPont (TiO2) Ti-Pure(R)
RPS Vantage(R) titanium dioxide products sold in North America.
Effective August 1, 2008, a six cent per pound (US$0.06/lb) energy
surcharge will be added to all Ti-Pure(R) RPS Vantage(R) products sold, in
North America (United States and Canada).
'Our costs are at historically high levels and continue to escalate,' said
Ian Edwards, global business director for DuPont Titanium Technologies. 'So,
we have no choice but to impose an energy surcharge in addition to the one we
announced on June 4, 2008. The rising price of energy continues to be a key
contributor to the higher costs our business is experiencing.'
