Columbus office receives President's Vendors Award
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Aug. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The Ohio Cast Metals Association
(OCMA) recently awarded RMT, Inc. (RMT) its annual President's Vendors Award.
This award acknowledges a vendor that has made significant contributions to
OCMA and to the Ohio metal casting industry.
Craig Schmeisser and Mike Blankestyn of RMT's Columbus, Ohio, office were
recognized for the expertise they provided the industry during development of
the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (USEPA) Iron and Steel Foundry Area
Source National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutant (NESHAP).
'Craig and Mike were an important resource during negotiations between the
USEPA and our industry,' says Russ Murray, OCMA Director. 'Through Mike's
research and analysis and Craig's advocacy -- all the way to the White
House -- foundries that pour less than 20,000 tons per year have been exempt
from regulations that would, essentially, have closed them. RMT's knowledge
and support helped OCMA prevent smaller foundries from being negatively
impacted by the NESHAP,' Murray concludes.
'OCMA is a valuable resource to Ohio foundries and RMT is glad to be of
assistance to them,' says Schmeisser. 'Metal casters are an important part of
Ohio's economy and history. RMT and its employees support OCMA and the work
it does by attending quarterly and annual meetings, and serving as board and
committee members.'
OCMA was founded in 1991 by a group of metal casters and their suppliers
to represent their interests in Ohio. The association works to inform the
public about the critical role metal casters play in the state's economic
well-being, and assists legislators and regulators in gathering economic and
environmental facts for the benefit of the state's citizens.
