Staples, Inc. Names Michael Patriarca Senior Vice President, Quill

Staples, Inc. (Nasdaq: SPLS) today announced the appointment of Michael Patriarca to senior vice president of Quill, who assumes leadership of the catalog and online business serving small and medium-sized businesses. Patriarca reports to Joe Doody, president of Staples North American Delivery.

“Mike brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new leadership role,” said Doody. “He is well prepared to help drive the Quill business and advance the highest levels of customer service.”

In his new position as senior vice president, Patriarca will have overall responsibility for Quill’s Marketing, Sales, Merchandising, IS, Finance and Customer Relations functions. Previously, he was vice president of Merchandising at Quill. Patriarca started his career with Staples in 1993 in Finance, and became director of finance for US Stores in 1997. In 2000, he joined Quill as vice president and controller and became vice president of Quill operations in 2003 with overall responsibility for distribution, supply chain, delivery and call center operations.
