Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) announced today that the company and P2S,
a unit of its Global Services Group, recently received 10 awards for “Meritorious
Safety Performance” from the National
Petrochemical and Refiners Association (NPRA) for projects the company
worked on throughout 2007.
P2S uses a “Zero Incident”
policy to encourage employees to practice safety at all times. “In
2007, P2S had more than 2 million hours without incident,”
said Scotty Scott, vice president of P2S. “This
supports our goal of ‘Zero Incidents’
as an obtainable objective.”
Both Fluor and P2S have won numerous awards for their dedication to
safety. P2S works at multiple sites for numerous oil and gas clients who
have also have had their project sites recognized for outstanding safety
by NPRA.
NPRA hosts an annual Safety Awards Banquet during the National Safety
Conference to honor those who have excelled in managing safe operations.
This year, the banquet was held in The Woodlands, Texas, where 130
companies received awards for accomplishments during the 2007 calendar
year.
