Company to Bring 3G Wireless Broadband Access to Areas of the State by Year End
PORTLAND, Maine, Aug. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) has
announced a planned investment of more than $15 million in the Maine wireless
network in 2008, which marks the largest investment since 2005 and will bring
the planned four-year state investment total to nearly $70 million.
Part of the 2008 investment plan calls for 14 new cell sites in the state.
Several of those sites have already gone live, including those in Auburn,
Orland, and Wiscasset. Additional coverage will be added in Orono, Cape
Elizabeth, Winterport, Shapleigh, Berwick, Orrington, Lewiston, Lisbon,
Brewer, York and Wells by the end of the year.
