UBS Investment Bank today announced that Jon Jodka will join the firm as
Managing Director and Head of US Prime Brokerage Sales within its
Equities division. Jodka will be based in New York and will report to
Matt Pecot, Head of US Prime Brokerage, and Martina Slowey, Global Head
of Prime Brokerage Sales.
“Jon has great breadth of experience on the
sell-side and strong relevant experience on the buy-side,”
said Alex Ehrlich, Global Head of Prime Services. “His
unique client-side perspective will be of great value to our team as we
strive to anticipate our hedge fund clients’
needs in this dynamic market and offer them the best possible products
and solutions.”
Jodka was most recently President and a founding partner of Copper Arch
Capital LLC, a New York-based hedge fund which successfully grew its
assets, client base, and product array prior to voluntarily returning
capital to its investors earlier this year.
Prior to that, Jodka spent 13 years at Morgan Stanley where he held
several senior positions including National Head of US Sales from 2000
to 2002, where he led the marketing and distribution of US research and
new issue products globally. He also served as a member of the Equities
Commitment Committee, and was a member of the Morgan Stanley President's
Diversity Committee. Jodka was head of the firm’s
Boston office from 1995 to 2000.
“Our prime services business continues to
thrive in all three regions,” added Ehrlich. “We
were especially pleased that for the second quarter we announced strong
results for the business due to solid growth in our client financing and
securities lending activities.”
Jodka holds a B.A in Government and Spanish from Bowdoin College and
received his MBA in Finance from The Tuck School of Business at
Dartmouth College.
