Location at I-70 and Ind. 9 within Greenfield City Limits
GREENFIELD, Ind., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Elanco, a global
animal health company, announced today that it has chosen a site at I-70 and
Ind. 9 as the location for its new worldwide headquarters. Construction on the
state-of-the-art facility, set to begin in March 2009, marks the launch of a
52-acre business and life sciences park being developed by Browning
Investments.
'We are excited to not only stay in Hancock County, but also to be
residents of the City of Greenfield,' said Jeff Simmons, president of Elanco,
a division of Eli Lilly and Company. 'This location plays a key role in
providing Elanco employees a great new home, as well as a strong identity and
presence in the city. It also gives our customers a great place to visit.
'The new Elanco headquarters will centralize the company's operations,
while saving us at least $1 million in annual operating expenses,' Simmons
added. 'This is a vital step in our goal to be a top global animal health
company, and we look forward to a long, successful relationship with
Greenfield.'
The new headquarters will be owned, built and managed by Browning, one of
the Midwest's leading commercial development companies. The Elanco
headquarters will encompass about 135,000 square feet over 20 acres within the
Browning park. Elanco's global headquarters is the first project in the new
business park, and will launch the development of 32 remaining acres for
additional development within this campus. The park, when completed, could
accommodate up to 400,000 square feet of business space.
'We are proud to provide Elanco with a terrific life sciences facility to
accommodate its needs, now and going forward,' said Dale Pfeifer, director of
real estate development for Browning.
