Sep. 7--Chamber official details VW impact

The Southeast Tennessee CCIM Chapter in conjunction with the Commercial Investment Council will host a luncheon Tuesday.

Trevor Hamilton, vice president of economic development for the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce, will talk about Volkswagen's impact on Chattanooga.

The lunch is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 100 Tremont St., the building that previously housed Rock Creek Outfitters. Tickets are $20 (free to CCIM Chapter members) and can be reserved by e-mailing Robert Fisher at Robert.Fisher@ReMax.com.

Mortgage loans up 7.5 percent

The Mortgage Bankers Association has released its Weekly Mortgage Applications Survey for the week ending Aug. 29. The Market Composite Index, a measure of mortgage loan application volume, was 453.1, an increase of 7.5 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis from 421.6 one week earlier.

On an unadjusted basis, the index increased 5.8 percent compared with the previous week and was down 27 percent compared with the same week one year earlier. The Refinance Index increased 2.1 percent to 1,059.7 from the previous week.

Ooltewah project sales begin
