In recognition of its economic, environmental and social performance, MeadWestvaco
Corp. (MWV) today announced that it has been selected as a member of
the 2008/09 Dow Jones
Sustainability World Index (DJSI World). The global packaging leader
is included on the prestigious Index for the fifth consecutive year
based on its success integrating environmental sustainability and social
values into core business objectives and economic performance.
MWV also ranked best-in-class in the Containers & Packaging industry
group for the fourth straight year, demonstrating outstanding leadership
in criteria such as risk and crisis management, sustainable fiber and
pulp, and corporate citizenship and philanthropy.
