Sep. 11--WEST CHESTER TWP. -- INVESTOR MOVE SPURS DROP IN AK STOCK: AK Steel Corp.'s stock price took a hit after the company's top shareholder dumped a significant portion of its stake.

Investment company Harbinger Capital Partners sold 3.1 million of its shares in AK, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The company had 13 percent stake in the third-largest U.S. steelmaker.

On the news, AK Steel's stock dropped more than 16 percent to its lowest point in 52 weeks at $33.72 during trading Sept. 9. The company's previous stock high this year was $73.07.

BUTLER, Pa. -- ARMCO/AK HERITAGE HONORED IN EXHIBIT: The Butler County Historical Society has unveiled a commemorative permanent exhibit on steelmaking at the Heritage Center for the area's 100th anniversary in the industry.

The exhibit includes artifacts dating back from the beginning of steel production. Many of the items come from Armco -- now AK Steel Corp. -- which is still the largest steel producer in the county. The company employs 1,500 people at its Butler Works plant in Butler, said. Becky Crum-Reinsel, the society's executive director.

Other significant companies whose area heritage is displayed in the exhibit include Forged Steel Wheel Company and Columbia Steel.

EYE CENTER OPENS IN WEST CHESTER TWP.: Focal Pointe Eye Care has opened a new center in West Chester Twp.

The office is located in the Medical Office Condominiums IV, Suite B, in front of the new West Chester Medical Center. Dr. Michael J. Lyons, who has worked the past seven years for the Cincinnati Eye Institute, will run the practice.

HAMILTON -- FIRST FINANCIAL PREPARES TO MOVE: First Financial Bank announced it has hired a new market president to help develop a plan to enter the Indianapolis banking market.

Mary Jo Kennelly, a resident of Indianapolis, has over 33 years of experience in banking. Most recently she was Indianapolis market president for Irwin Union Bank for nine years.

She will initially work from the bank's location in downtown Columbus, Ind., but will soon establish a commercial lending office in Indianapolis, bank officials said.

First Financial operates 80 banking centers in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.

FAIRFIELD -- CINCINNATI FINANCIAL TO WEB CAST 3Q EARNINGS: Cincinnati Financial will Web cast its earnings call for the third quarter on Oct. 29.
