EMPLOYERS^® (NYSE:EIG) has announced the appointment of Sharon Faggiano as Vice President of Sales for its Pacific Region, which includes all of California. With more than 27 years of insurance expertise, Faggiano has most recently served as Director of Claims Services for EMPLOYERS, the workers’ compensation insurance carrier known as America’s small business insurance specialist.^®

Faggiano’s leadership in claims management and processing will now be redirected to equip agents appointed by EMPLOYERS with the claims-based know-how to increase sales and meet the workers’ compensation needs of each of their small business customers.

Faggiano’s insurance career has been focused primarily in California, the largest of the 12 states in which EMPLOYERS conducts business. After starting out her career in the 1980s as an insurance company file clerk, Faggiano assumed increasingly responsible positions as a claims adjuster, claims supervisor, and customer service manager before assuming the Director of Claims Services post for EMPLOYERS in 2004.

EMPLOYERS Pacific Region President Hale Johnston explained the value Faggiano’s claims expertise will bring to agents serving the workers’ compensation needs of small business customers. “Sharon Faggiano has a unique perspective on how claims can be cost-effectively, fairly, and competently handled to benefit both the small businesses insured by our company, and workers who experience on-the-job accidents or illnesses,” Johnston said. “Her unmatched skills will strengthen our already strong claims nucleus, and the ability of EMPLOYERS to meet the challenges of today's ultra-competitive California workers' compensation market.”
