Sept 27 (Interfax) - The Middle East peace process should involve all countries of the region, and Iran's and Syria's participation is absolutely necessary, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told journalists following a meeting of the Middle East Quartet of international mediators in New York.

"There are no doubts that, for the reliable settlement of all the aspects of the Middle East conflict, all countries that can influence these or those parties to this conflict need to be involved," Lavrov said.

"In this context, the participation of such countries as Iran and Syria is absolutely necessary," he said.
