Company Adds Managing Director Focused on Global Missions of
Academic Medical Center Clients
Huron Consulting Group (NASDAQ: HURN), a leading provider of financial
and operational consulting services, today announced that Mark Barnes
has joined the Company as a managing director in the Health and
Education Consulting practice focused on the international needs of
academic medical centers and research universities.

expertise working with academic medical centers on issues impacting

Barnes comes to Huron from St. Jude Children’s
Research Hospital where he served as executive vice president, chief
administrative officer and director of research operations. For the past
25 years, he has practiced and taught health law, served as a Washington
lobbyist and advocate, as well as administering domestic and
international healthcare programs. From 2001 until 2007, Barnes was a
partner at the law firm of Ropes & Gray LLP. He has also served as
executive director of Harvard University’s
AIDS treatment programs in Nigeria, Tanzania and Botswana. Barnes is
recognized as one of the leading authorities on clinical trials,
research compliance, federal grants compliance, medical privacy, and
healthcare infrastructure development. He will be based in Huron’s
New York office.
