Food 4 Less Member Liz Willis of Pasadena to be Featured on Specially-Marked Kellogg's Products
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Food 4 Less and Foods Co stores, in
partnership with key suppliers, have committed $170,000 in donations for
breast cancer initiatives to support National Breast Cancer Awareness month in
October.
A two-week sales promotion currently running in all Food 4 Less stores in
Southern California and Southern Nevada and Foods Co stores in Central and
Northern California supports the company's Giving Hope a Hand(R) campaign to
increase breast cancer awareness. The promotion includes hundreds of popular
items storewide, many of which will feature exclusive, specially marked pink
packaging.
In addition, Liz Willis, a clerk at the Food 4 Less store at 5420 Sunset
Boulevard in Hollywood and a 23-year breast cancer survivor, will share her
experience on specially-marked products, including Kellogg's Eggo Nutri-Grain
Blueberry Waffles.
'I feel like I experienced all of this so I could share my story with
someone,' says Willis, a Pasadena resident. 'What's really important is
listening to your body and knowing your body. My message is to get your
mammogram, pay attention to your body, and listen to your doctor and the
people who care about you. Enjoy life to the fullest. You have to be grateful
for every day. Not every day is perfect, but you have to find something good
in it.'

Products featured in the Giving Hope a Hand(R) promotion include the
Company's own corporate-brand items as well as products from other supplier
and vendor partners. Participating manufacturers include Kellogg's, Kraft,
Pepsi, Campbell's, General Mills products under the Betty Crocker and
Pillsbury labels, Procter & Gamble and Dreyer's Ice Cream. Food 4 Less/Foods
Co's partnership with key suppliers benefits breast cancer initiatives in
communities in California and southern Nevada, where Food 4 Less/Foods Co
customers and team members live and work.
'We're proud to have our own Liz Willis featured on products to share her
personal journey as a breast cancer survivor,' said Dave Hirz, President of
Food 4 Less/Foods Co Stores. 'Liz's participation is so meaningful in so many
ways but perhaps the most important aspect is the awareness she is raising by
encouraging others to take charge of their own health. She is providing a
tremendous service to families by sharing her story to educate others in a
positive and effective way.'
