Oct 5 (Interfax) - More than 30 Russian military trucks left the village of Urta in Georgia's Zugdidi district for Abkhazia's Gali district early on Sunday, marking the start of the Urta peacekeeping base dismantling, the Georgian Interior Ministry told Interfax.

The Russian military is also preparing for a pullout from the villages of Kanti, Anakliya, Chkhorotsku and Ganmukhuri, Georgian Interior Ministry spokesman Shota Utiashvili said.

The withdrawal is being monitored by observes of the European Union, he said.

Russian troops remain in five villages of the Tsalendzhikhi district, he also said.

No confirmation of these reports from the Russian side is available to Interfax.

In compliance with the plan agreed by Russian and French presidents Dmitry Medvedev and Nicolas Sarkozy, Russian troops must withdraw from Georgia before October 10.
