The Nikkei sank to its lowest finish in four and a half years as worries about growing fallout from the credit crisis overwhelmed any relief over the passage of the US financial bailout. The index lost 465.1, or 4.3 per cent, to close at 10,473.1. Nippon Steel and Mizuho Financial Group both dipped 7.8 per cent, and Toyota was down 4.4 per cent.
