The New York Times Company announced today that Joseph N. Seibert has
been named chief information officer. He will report to James Follo,
senior vice president and chief financial officer.

area of information technology, including corporate infrastructure and

Mr. Seibert, 49, served as chief operating officer of Marc Ecko
Enterprises, a global apparel company, from 2006 to 2008. Previously, he
was chief operating officer of Home Décor
Products from 2005 to 2006, and served as chief information officer of
GSI Commerce from 2003 to 2005. Before that, he held various positions
at CBS and Viacom from 1993 to 2002, leaving Viacom as chief information
officer with global responsibility for more than 1,200 information
technology professionals. He received a B.A. degree in business
administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1984.
