Tanzanian Royalty Chairman Completes One Million Dollar Private Placement

South Surrey, British Columbia CANADA, October 10, 2008 /FSC/ - Tanzanian Royalty Exploration Corp (TNX - TSX, TRE - American), announces that the $1,000,000 private placement with Mr. James E. Sinclair announced October 1, 2008 has closed.  Mr. Sinclair purchased 327,225 common shares at a purchase price of $3.056 per share.  

Mr. Sinclair's total share placements to date aggregate in excess of $20 million.
