Conceive Magazine Names Sprint One of the Nation's Most Family-Friendly Places to Work and FiberTower Posts Wider Loss on Charges

FiberTower Corp. (NASDAQ: FTWR) , which provides wireless access for telecom companies and government agencies, said fourth-quarter revenue rose on strong growth in T-1 lines, and said it expects greater demand in 2008 driven by increased broadband use on handheld devices and cell phones, and new deployment activity from several wireless carriers. Late Thursday, the company reported losses for the quarter ended Dec. 31 of $129.1 million, or 90 cents per share, compared with a loss of $90.6 million, or 63 cents per share, in the 2007 third quarter.

Airspan Networks Inc. (NASDAQ: AIRN), a leading worldwide provider of WiMAX broadband wireless access networks, announced recently that it has been awarded a contract by Wightcable for its MicroMAX 5.8 GHz base stations, VoiceMAX for VoIP services and related CPEs (customer premise equipment), which include Airspan's ProSTs and EasySTs. Wightcable will provide WiMAX voice and data services across the Isle of Wight in the United Kingdom, starting in the town of Newport. Wightcable is the incumbent cable operator on the Isle of Wight and plans to expand their footprint by offering WiMAX voice and data services across the island, targeting the business and residential customer base.
