Edgewater's Pacific Scallops Win "Superior Gold Medal" From Leading North American Culinary Organization

Edgewater Foods International, Inc.(OTCBB: EDWT), the first fully integrated shellfish producer with thelargest private marine research hatchery in Canada, today announced thatthe Company's proprietary lead product, Pacific scallops, has received the"Superior Gold Medal" from American Masters of Taste, a leading independentculinary evaluation organization based in California.

"We are very excited and pleased to receive this award from such aprestigious independent culinary group," said Robert Saunders, Chairman,CEO and President of Edgewater. "It is a powerful confirmation of thequality of the additive-free, natural scallop products we have worked sodiligently to develop. It strongly supports our drive to expand into largenew markets in North America and abroad."


The Pacific scallop is a unique scallop with significantly increasedgrowth, yield and disease resistance. Island Scallops Ltd. ("ISL"), asubsidiary of Edgewater Foods International, is the sole source of Pacificscallop seed in the world.


"Shucked Pacific scallops," the proprietary lead product of ISL, won in the"Scallops, North American" category for food service. The "triple blind"judging was conducted by a Masters of Taste panel headed by famed "Maîtredu Goût" (Master of Taste), Jesse Sartain.


"We commend the culinary commitment of the staff of Island Scallops, Ltd.for the excellence and innovation of their product lines. We applaudthem," commented Chef Sartain, declaring Island Scallops a "U.S.A. TasteChampion."


The protocols of "triple blind" judging are designed to ensure accurate andfair judging results. Evaluators do not know:

1.   Who the manufacturer is.2.   What the product variety or appellation is.3.   What the other evaluators' scores and comments are.


The judging, announced May 23, 2008, was part of the ongoing U.S.A. TasteChampionships founded in 1989 with the establishment of the Chefs inAmerica Awards Foundation, whose professional Board Members gather weeklyto conduct taste tests on a myriad of foodservice and retail groceryproducts.


Edgewater is focused on expanding future crops of its proprietary Pacificscallop, leveraging ISL's new processing facility (located on VancouverIsland, British Columbia), continuing infrastructure improvements, andincreasing sales and marketing efforts. It also intends to leverage itsproprietary hatchery technology to begin sablefish (black cod) productionand ultimately enter the sablefish market in a significant way.
