Following the merger of Expedia Inc. and Hotels.com, Mr. Brock assumed the additional responsibilities of Director of Application Engineering for the Expedia family of companies (including Expedia.com, Hotwire and NewTrade).
Mr. Brock’s engagement is a key component of Triton’s strategic global success plan which includes: fulfilling existing and prospective travel distribution contracts; undertaking strategic acquisitions in China and Europe; and, rebranding the Company to accentuate the commercial scalability of Triton's proprietary Internet technology and its competitive position in the emerging domestic and international Chinese travel markets. Mr. Brock will focus on building Triton’s partnerships within the online travel industry while ensuring continued operational and infrastructural excellence within the Company.
“There are a number of attractive elements that combine to convince me of the potential of Triton to become both a fierce competitor and an advantageous partner in the travel distribution sector,” says Mr. Brock, “The technology platform is architected as a superior model to that of the incumbent distribution systems. Triton is built upon a modern, service-oriented-architecture that can easily scale to meet the processing capacity requirements of a world-class environment. With Triton’s simplified itinerary and single-payment processing in native currency, the product of this platform is also superior to that of the competition in ease of use and management by travel agents and consumer-facing points of sale. Finally, Triton’s unique and longstanding relationship with the Chinese travel industry allows for a deep offering of travel inventory (including domestic Chinese travel and local tours) that is simply unavailable by any other means outside of domestic Chinese travel agencies.
