Deal Includes Grammy(R)-Winning Reggae Icon Lee 'Scratch' Perry

SANTA MONICA, Calif., and VANCOUVER, British Columbia, June 18 /CNW/ --LIONSGATE(R) (NYSE: LGF) continues to expand and diversify its musicalrepertoire, adding Grammy(R) winner Lee "Scratch" Perry to its roster in adistribution deal with independent record label Narnack Records, it wasannounced today by Lionsgate Music President Jay Faires.

The deal launches with Perry's upcoming album REPENTANCE, which isco-produced by Andrew W.K. and features such guest artists as Moby, DonFleming, Chris Stein of Blondie, Brian Chippendale of Lightning Bolt andseveral other notable acts.

Lee "Scratch" Perry is a Grammy(R) award-winning artist and producer whowas highly influential in the development and acceptance of reggae and dubmusic. In his infamous studio, The Black Ark, Perry produced some of the mostsignificant artists in the history of reggae including the legendary BobMarley & the Wailers. Beyond reggae, Perry worked with iconic rock group TheClash on their first LP in the US, producing the single COMPLETE CONTROL andco-writing the hit POLICE AND THIEVES. He was also featured on the (number sign)1 debutalbum HELLO NASTY by the Beastie Boys, who were involved with the newdocumentary THE UPSETTER: THE LIFE & MUSIC OF LEE "SCRATCH" PERRY.
