Trident Microsystems Names Mangan As Interim CFO

Trident Microsystems Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS:TRID) (TRID) named Pete J. Mangan as vice president, finance and interim chief financial officer.

The Santa Clara, Calif., provider of multimedia integrated circuits said Mangan's appointment follows the Jan. 11 resignation of Chief Financial Officer John Edmunds.

Trident said it is currently conducting a search for a permanent chief financial officer and is considering Mangan as a candidate.

The company also named Donna M. Hamlin as vice president, human resources.

Mangan, 48 years old, most recently served as director of finance at Spansion Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS:SPSN) (SPSN), a Sunnyvale, Calif., maker of flash memory devices.

Hamlin, 53, was vice president, human resources and organizational development at Asyst Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS:ASYT) (ASYT), a Fremont, Calif., automation systems maker.

Shares of Trident Microsystems (NASDAQ-NMS:TRID) closed down 15 cents, or 2.6%, at $5.52 on Tuesday.
