Northrop Grumman Corp. (NYSE:NOC) (NOC) Monday said it will lead a group of companies that will compete for a contract to design and install the Coast Guard's Nationwide Automatic Identification System.
The value of the program wasn't disclosed.
The Los Angeles defense contractor said its group will include Allied Technology Group Inc., Rockville, Md.; CACI International Inc. (NYSE:CAI) (CAI), Arlington, Va.; Washington Group International Inc. (NYSE:WNG) (WNG), Boise, Idaho; ICAN Inc., Dallas; True Heading AB, Stockholm; Broadpoint Inc., New Orleans; and GTSI Corp. (NASDAQ-NMS:GTSI) ( GTSI (NASDAQ-NMS:GTSI) ), Chantilly, Va.
The companies will compete to design a two-way maritime digital communication system which will transmit and receive voiceless exchange of vessel data, including vessel identity, position, speed, course and destination.
