Tootsie Roll Industries Inc.'s (NYSE:TR) (TR) second-quarter net income fell 6.4% to $ 12.9 million, or 24 cents a share, from $13.7 million, or 25 cents a share, a year earlier.

The Chicago candy company's sales fell 8.4% to $94.9 million from $103.6 million a year earlier.

Results were hurt by a change in package size, weight and price as well as higher ingredient, energy, freight and delivery costs.
