MIDLAND, Mich., July 10, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Chemical Bank revealed today that the Midland-based bank is behind the "Save Michigan" campaign launched across the Lower Peninsula last week. Billboards and print ads that had read simply "Save Michigan," now carry the web address www.savingmi.com, where the Chemical Bank connection is made.

"We wanted to change the conversation and to get people talking," said Chemical Bank Chairman, President, and CEO David B. Ramaker. "Chemical Bank is headquartered in Michigan and has been operating exclusively in communities throughout Michigan for over 90 years, so we know that the economic challenges the people and businesses in this state face are real. But we believe a change in direction is possible.

"People and businesses throughout Michigan are working hard to turn things around, saving and building our communities for future generations," continued Ramaker. "We're one of those businesses. We are doing our part to help people in the communities we serve, both through the positive messages we're getting out to the people of Michigan and with products and services that provide individuals access to the capital they need to thrive in today's economic climate."

The "Save Michigan" campaign precedes a larger Chemical Bank brand campaign that will celebrate Michigan and demonstrate how Chemical Bank is strengthening communities throughout the state with a solid base of financial products.

"We have a long-running practice of providing complimentary financial education to individuals in the communities we serve," explained Ramaker. "We're continuing that practice with a new series of free, practical financial management workshops relevant to today's economic environment. These workshops will be offered at our branches across the state throughout August and are aimed at reinforcing the principles of personal financial management."

The public can find more information or register for Chemical Bank's new series of free financial education workshops at www.savingmi.com.
