[SITA report: "Slovakia Not To Recognize Kosovo Passports"]
Bratislava - The government in Pristina will begin to issue Kosovo passports next Friday [ 18 July].
The Slovak Foreign Ministry announced that Slovakia would not recognize them. "We do not recognize an independent Kosovo, so we will also not recognize their documents. We will continue to recognize substitute passports issued by the UN administration and Serbian passports," said Ministry spokesman Jan Skoda. When a person from Kosovo arrives at the German Embassy, they will receive a visa to the Schengen countries that have recognized Kosovo. If they arrived in Slovakia, they would be here illegally.
