Jul. 15--The Chicago 2016 bid team's fundraising event at Millennium Park was a two-tiered event Monday evening.

Big-time donors in suits and sundresses mingled at a cocktail reception and sit-down dinner while boosters and tourists in shorts and T-shirts meandered in the surrounding public spaces.

Sipping cocktails with the Cloud Gate sculpture as a backdrop were some of the city's most prominent movers and shakers, with such last names as Crown, Pritzker, Canning and McKenna and such corporate monikers as Abbott, Deloitte, Sara Lee, United and Wrigley.

In all, more than 100 individuals, families, businesses and foundations co-chaired the event, which was headed by Mayor Richard Daley and Chicago 2016 bid leader Patrick Ryan. Each donated at least $100,000 or provided $1 million in donated services or goods.
