The TriZetto Group Inc. (NASDAQ: TZIX) today announced its three- year, renewable contract with Syntel, Inc. (NASDAQ: SYNT) to become a key TriZetto multisourcing partner. The Syntel relationship provides greater flexibility and capacity in TriZetto's new product development, professional services delivery and hosted services for its payer customers and strengthens 24x7 operations and services.
TriZetto's multisourcing approach combines on-shore, near-shore and off-shore resources to provide IT services for payers. Syntel replaces former partners including Cognizant Technology Solutions, whose relationship was terminated in early 2007.
A provider of IT and business process outsourcing services, Syntel assists core product and custom development, functional and performance testing, operations support for hosted customers, process workflow modeling and report development. Syntel resources are being trained and certified on the latest versions of TriZetto's product line. Syntel personnel also participate in a TriZetto-led mentoring program, and use TriZetto's development and product implementation accelerators. This approach augments TriZetto certified professionals in the United States, Mexico and India and strengthens the "follow-the-sun" model for TriZetto's development and hosting centers, as well as professional services.
"In building our multisourcing model, we selected a highly synergistic partner and created strong controls to help improve quality and augment our on-shore professionals," said Tim Hascall, executive vice president of professional services at TriZetto. "By integrating off-shore and near-shore resources with on-shore team members, and providing our partner full access to our proprietary training and tools, we're confident that we can accelerate time to results and strengthen service for our payer customers."
Hascall added that the selection of Syntel was based on its Six Sigma process quality perspective, healthcare industry experience and "willingness to work as a truly integrated partner: certifying their employees and adopting process models, quality metrics and tool sets."
"The partnership is demonstrating results with cost and quality improvements achieved in the work we've already done to build customized extensions, interfaces, test scripts and reports and take what has traditionally been the 'swing shifts' to provide 24-hour environment management of our hosting operations," said Hascall.
"TriZetto is a leader in providing integrated core administration, care management, network and constituent Web systems for health plans and benefits administrators," said Keshav Murugesh, Syntel's president and chief operating officer.
