CALGARY, Aug. 20 /CNW/ - Galleon Energy Inc. ("Galleon") is pleased to
announce that Mr. Daryl Gilbert has joined Galleon as a director.
Mr. Gilbert has been active in the western Canadian oil and natural gas
sector for over 30 years, working in reserves evaluation with
Gilbert Laustsen Jung Associates Ltd. (now GLJ Petroleum Consultants Ltd)
("GLJ"), an engineering consulting firm, from 1979 to 2005. Mr. Gilbert served
as President and Chief Executive Officer of GLJ from 1994 to 2005. Since 2005,
he has been an independent businessman and investor and serves as a director
for a number of public and private entities. Mr. Gilbert is a graduate of the
University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and is a
Registered Professional Engineer in Alberta.
