BEIJING -- (Marketwire) -- 08/29/08 -- Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- The Aluminum Corporation of China (NYSE:ACH) (Chalco) (Beijing) recently laid the foundation for a 300,000-ton deep-processing copper project in the Qidian Industry Park in Kunming, the capital of southwestern China's Yunnan province. The $290 million project is one of the largest copper-processing projects ever planned in China. It will process 100,000 metric tons of copper plate and 200,000 metric tons of copper rods.
