Sep. 5--The $15 million land transaction making way for the future site of Arm & Hammer's detergent plant and warehouse operation in Jackson Township -- and 300 new jobs -- has been completed, Rock Commercial Realty said today.

Construction is expected to begin this month on the 232-acre property at Commerce Drive and Hidden Lane near Route 30, with completion by the end of 2009.

Arm & Hammer owner Church & Dwight said it searched the country for a location to replace an antiquated facility, which operates from several disjointed buildings on a site with no more room for expansion, in New Jersey

The company said it settled on York County for its combination of ample land, allowing for future expansion, and infrastructure like water and a nearby railroad line.

Rock Commercial Realty represented the land's seller, Jackson Holdings LLC, previously identified as Stewart Associates.

The buyer was identified as First Industrial Realty Trust, which will build the 1.1 million square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space for Church & Dwight.
