Sep. 18--KUWAIT -- Representing transparency and commitment to customers, Kuwait Telecom Company (KTC), the third company to enter Kuwait's telecommunications market on Tuesday unveiled its newest commercial brand, VIVA, which it said is set to conquer the Kuwaiti market.

The colorful and elaborate presentation was held at the Radisson SAS Hotel on Tuesday evening, attended by executives from its major Saudi partner, the Saudi Telecom Company (STC). Viva, a word used to express acclamation, salute, or applause, (which, in Italian and Spanish, means 'Long live'), but for KTC, Viva stands for great life, innovation, dynamism, flexibility, comprehensibility and an easier life. VIVA's commercial operation officially started yesterday from its temporary office in Sharq's Array a Center. Commercial operations started just 10 months after the company acquired the third license to operate.

VIVA is now operational and subscription can be acquired anywhere in Kuwait. Speaking at the press conference, Saud Bin Majed Al-Duwaish, STC's CEO lauded the company's enormous success in laying the groundwork and making the preparations, which started immediately after acquiring the license from building the network to recruiting qualified staff.

We are ready today to launch VIVA, which we trust will add a new, meaningful value to the telecom market in Kuwait through diversified outstanding services. We have done great job in record time," he said. Al-Duwaish expressed STC's commitment to a long term investment in Kuwait, and underlined its (STC's) presence here as real proof of a genuine and obvious opportunity to share with Kuwaiti people in developing the country's communication sector.

Al-Duwaish spoke of his pride in KTC's strategy in recruiting qualified/graduate Kuwaiti nationals who fulfill KTC's manpower needs. He stressed that by doing so, VIVA will be a known breeding ground for skilled young Kuwaitis, developing professional careers and generating quality employment opportunities here.

He added, "Viva aims to play a pivotal role in the telecom market through concentrating on customer service, adopting transparency and creativity through different options to present a communication service which exceeds customers' expectations.

Al-Duwaish promised to deliver the best options and offer the best service in the telecommunications field according to the most highly developed telecom techniques in the world. Al-Duwaish also said that the company's 'We Resolve Around Our Clients' motto inspired its client services, as well as the company's products and services.

Before ending his speech, Al-Duwaish introduced VIVA CEO, Najib Al-Awadi, saying that with Al-Awadi's vast experience in the telecommunication business, he believed that his leadership represents the company's values and that Al-Awadi can prove and will deliver its goals and objectives.

For his part, Al-Awadi reiterated his company's commitment to quality service while striving to optimize staff performance. He acknowledged that it's not easy for VIVA as the third company and requires hard work, but he said that with the unrelenting determination it possesses, the company is now ready to face the challenges starting today and in the many years to come.

He praised STC for their support, especially for providing the high-caliber team of professionals who will help and make a difference in Kuwait's telecommunications industry. He described the Kuwaiti market as one of the fastest-growing in the world and said that the demand for advanced telecommunications technologies is limitless.
