NETANYA, Israel, September 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cellcom Israel Ltd. (the "Company") announced today the dismissal with prejudice of the motion for certification as a class action, filed in August 2001 against the Company in the District Court of Tel-Aviv-Jaffa by one of its subscribers and amended (after being transferred to the District Court of Central Region) in 2006. The lawsuit alleged collection of air time tariffs and subscriber fees not in accordance with the agreement with the subscribers.
Had the lawsuit been certified as a class action, the amount claimed was estimated by the plaintiff to be NIS 1.26 billion, plus punitive damages at a rate of not less than 100% of the amount of the judgment.
